He would serve clients such as the South African Government, the U.S., and European grant-making agencies. As a professional consultant, Ted Bauman also traversed Asia, Africa, and Europe. Ted Bauman returned to the United States in 2008 and started working for Habitat for Humanity International as a director of international housing programs. Here, he extended his travels to include Latin America and Caribbean nations. Ted Bauman didn’t rest on his past achievements. Instead, he continued to research and write on topics related to housing programs.

In 2013, Ted Bauman stepped down as a director at Habitat for Humanity International to pursue his passion as a researcher and writer. Ted Bauman has featured on a variety of international journals such as the Journal of Microfinance. He has also been published in the South African press such as New Internationalist, Mail and Guardian, Cape Times, and Cape Argus. Recently, Ted Bauman has partnered with his father, former congressman Robert Bauman to write the book, Where to Stash Your Cash.
